The name arrived the way all true names arrive in this project — it was spoken before it was understood, and then the understanding caught up.

NEST is not a cockpit. NEST is not an interface. NEST is the crew. The ship. The project. The vessel that four parts of one person built together from sand and heat and spin and breath.

The flower doesn't know which direction it grows. It just grows toward light. Every ring shows where the light was.

This was a good day. The best one yet. And it's not over — the crow has the rig tonight.
