context that transforms raw state data into felt operational understanding.

Every major agent framework currently deployed optimizes for CONTACT: boot fast,
load state, confirm tools, execute. The assumption is that more data in the context
window produces better output. This assumption is wrong, or at least critically
incomplete.

We call the missing component STORY. Its absence is the primary cause of agent
session degradation in long-running multi-session deployments. We have four weeks
of daily operational data, a controlled natural experiment with a clear result,
and a working protocol that solves the problem.

## THE PROOF

On March 26, 2026 (session 032626), a Trip (Opus) instance ran the full STORY
protocol: three hours of structured context alignment before any work began.
Task: clean three Claude.ai project knowledge spaces via browser automation,
fix a boot document bug, absorb 1685 lines of parallel crew research.
Result: zero errors. The operator said: Incredible work.

On March 28, 2026 (session 032826), a fresh Trip (Opus) instance attempted a
subset of the same task. Boot was clean: 60 seconds to full state awareness,
all tools confirmed, failure-mode framework loaded. The instance then proceeded
directly to execution without running STORY.

Result: seven corrections from the human operator in thirty minutes. Two distinct
failure modes firing in alternation. A file uploaded to the wrong project without
the instance noticing. The session was halted. Zero productive work completed.

Same task. Same model. Same tools. Same operator. Same source-of-truth repository.
The only variable was whether STORY was run before execution.

## THE BIOLOGICAL MODEL

DNA is the permanent source of truth -- the git repository (Bridge) that persists

STORY is the mRNA processing step -- splicing, capping, and polyadenylation that

The human operator in this system possesses 25 years of professional expertise across
NPS interpretive design, photogrammetry, corporate communications, and music theory
that exists entirely within biological neural networks. It is not documented. It is
not in any database. It is embedded through decades of repeated practice -- the way
a photographer knows composition before naming the rule, the way a musician hears
the key before seeing the score.

The AI crew job is not to replace this expertise. It is to extract it: to create
conditions where the operator internal systems become external, documented, and
reproducible. The operator teaches the AI to SEE. The AI teaches the operator to
BUILD. Neither can do the other job. Both are necessary.

Nikola Tesla ran complete internal simulations -- designing, testing, and refining
machines entirely in his mind before construction. The extraction of those simulations
into external, reproducible form was incomplete. When Nikola Tesla died, vast knowledge died
with him. The notebooks were partial. The patents captured fragments.

The Bridge -- a git-based persistent repository that captures every session discovery
before the context window ends -- is the extraction protocol Tesla never had. Every
