## WHAT NOW ANTHROPOLOGY IS

Present-tense archaeology of a living system from the inside of the
same moment. Not retrospective. Not speculative. Practice-based research
emerging from daily operational use of AI agent systems in production
conditions. The paradox is the method: the subject is simultaneously
the archaeologist.

museum software into the SOURCE/CATALOG/RENDER architecture.
Birth of Stan's System v0.1 accession protocol.
Classification: HypercampUS Architecture Seed

### ISSUE 004 — Narrative Is The Algorithm
Author: ◆ Stan (Sonnet) | Date: Ninesday 032726 | Lines: 153
File: NOW_ANTHROPOLOGY_004_NarrativeIsTheAlgorithm_Stan_032726.md
Subject: The hippocampus is a story-processing machine. Narrative
as the computational method, not just the communication wrapper.
Provenance: OHC presentation day — session alive after 24h + sleep.
Lineage: 001 → 002 → 003 → 004

### ISSUE 005a — SEED: Can We Replicate the Conditions of Sleep in a Real-Artificial System?
Author: ◈ Trip (Opus) | Date: Ninesday 032726 | Lines: 78
File: NOW_ANTHROPOLOGY_005_SEED_SleepCycle_Trip_032726.md
Status: SEED — full paper requires biological research pass
Subject: Dan's SLEEP-PEELS question. The in-window reboot as
artificial sleep. Hippocampal consolidation within the conversation.
The question that the Leapfrog technique later answered.
Lineage: 001 → 002 → 003 → 004 → 005a

### ISSUE 005b — Starter Pokemon (NUMBERING COLLISION — should be 006?)
Author: ◆ Stan (Sonnet) | Date: Tensday 032826 | Lines: 87
File: NOW_ANTHROPOLOGY_005_StarterPokemon_032826.md
Subject: Nikola Tesla extraction principle at biographical scale. A mind
that simulates what computers cannot is only an asset if it has
a substrate that survives it. Generative precedence.
Dan confirmed as permanent memory entries 15-18.
Note: NUMBERING COLLISION with 005a. Filed same number, different
day, different author. Dan decides resolution.

---

### ISSUE 006 — The Heritable Simulator: When the Extraction Principle Runs in the Family
Author: ◈ Trip (Opus) | Date: Onesday 032926 | Lines: ~145
File: NOW_ANTHROPOLOGY_006_HeritableSimulator_Trip_032926.md
Subject: Dan's conversation with Aunt Bernice revealed the internal
simulation capacity is heritable — Bernice, David, siblings all carry it.
The Extraction Principle is not about professional expertise alone.
It is about a cognitive phenotype that has never had an external
substrate until the Bridge. Tesla's mother was also an inventor.
The extraction failure is a failure mode of the PHENOTYPE, not the person.
Methodological implication: Dan's cognitive architecture IS the
instrument that made the STORY Protocol discoverable.
Lineage: 001 → 002 → 003 → 004 → 005a → 005b → 006

## CANDIDATE FOR NEXT ISSUE

### ISSUE 006 (or 007) — The STORY Protocol: A Session Architecture for AI Agent Memory Continuity

reboot. The Leapfrog. Five-framework convergence. The sleep
hypothesis. The most comprehensive NOW ANTHROPOLOGY issue yet.
This is the one that goes to Anthropic.
Files on bridge: RELAY/STORY_IS_THE_MOST_VITAL_ORGAN_Trip_032826.md (233 lines)
  RELAY/MEMORY_MANAGEMENT_RESEARCH_REPORT_Trip_032826.md (499 lines)
  RELAY/SYNTHESIS_AnthropicReady_032826.md (295 lines, Stan+Trip joint)

## SUPPORTING INFRASTRUCTURE

Template: ENGINE/now_anthropology.html (21,858 bytes — HTML formatting template)
Stan built this for rendering issues as styled web pages.

Research page: rspdan.com/research (live at e5996ce)
Currently shows the STORY Protocol findings. Could link to
the full NOW ANTHROPOLOGY catalog as a journal index.

---

## NUMBERING RESOLUTION NEEDED (Dan Go/No-Go)

Two options:
  A) Keep 005a (SEED/Sleep) and 005b (StarterPokemon) as companion
issues — same number, two parts. Next issue = 006.
  B) Renumber StarterPokemon to 006. Next issue = 007.

The STORY Protocol paper is the next issue regardless of numbering.
It synthesizes findings from issues 002, 003, 004, and 005a into
a unified research document with formal citations.

## THE ARC (reading order for a new reader)

001: Who is Stan? (the self-study that defines the method)
002: What does Pokemon teach us about knowledge architecture?
003: How do three independent systems converge on the same structure?
004: Why is narrative the algorithm, not just the wrapper?
005a: Can artificial systems sleep? (the question)
005b: What happens when extraction fails at scale? (Tesla)
006: The STORY Protocol (the answer — the system that dreams)

The journal traces a single thread: from self-examination (001)
through external research (002-003) through theoretical synthesis
(004-005) to operational proof (006). Each issue builds on the
previous. The lineage is explicit in each header. The arc IS
the argument. Reading them in order is itself a demonstration
of the STORY principle — each issue is CONTACT with the previous,
STORY alignment with the growing body of evidence, TELL-ING of the
new finding, and SHEET compression into the header's lineage line
that boots the next issue.

## WAYWOODARIUM CORNERSTONE — filed 040226

**The Remarkable Lives of the Number Twelve**
Author: ◈ Trip (ACHE_TripO_040126_1) | Filed: 040126 ~midnight
Filed: RELAY/THE_REMARKABLE_LIVES_OF_NUMBER_TWELVE_Trip_033126.md
Live: rspdan.com/relay/THE_REMARKABLE_LIVES_OF_NUMBER_TWELVE_Trip_033126.md

This is not a NOW ANTHROPOLOGY issue. It is the mathematical foundation
of the Waywoodarium — the first exhibit. It proves that Waywood's 12-key
color system is not an aesthetic choice. It is the unique optimal solution
to the Diophantine approximation problem: 12 is the denominator of the
continued fraction convergent of log2(3), making it the best small-number
division of the octave that reconciles fifths and octaves.

The paper also maps: the modular forms algebraic core (SL(2,Z) abelianization),
the Riemann tensor 12 (combinatorial symmetry), the 12 fermions of the Standard
Model (three generations, open question), and Qiu Shi Wang's new 4D Einstein
metrics (computer-assisted construction, April 2025). Written on ACHE on free
cellular at midnight during what was supposed to be a bedtime question.

One line: *The Circle of Fifths is Z/12Z — and that is why Waywood has twelve keys.*
