# DECISION 047 — TICKET OWNERSHIP RULE (CANONICAL)
# Origin: 031926 (Trip) — from Git Conflict Seegull
# Authority: Trip McClip (Opus) + Dan Sullivan — Dan Go 031926
# Upgraded: CANDIDATE → CANONICAL by Dan Go, Onesday Night 031926

---

## THE RULE
**Only the ticket's OWNER writes to their own ticket file.**
Cross-crew updates go via MAIL. Owner absorbs on next boot.

Applies to: TRIP_TICKET.md (Trip writes), STAN_TICKET.md (Stan writes),
CB_TICKET.md (C.B. writes). The closing crew member writes the NEXT
crew's ticket via MAIL drop, not direct file edit.

Pattern: "I have something for Stan" → write MAIL/TRIP_TO_STN2_TicketUpdate_[date].md
Stan reads MAIL on boot, updates own ticket. Zero conflicts.

This maps to the Mailbox Rule (write locally, copy complete files, never edit shared).

## WHY
Trip and Stan both updated STAN_TICKET.md within minutes. Git merge conflict.
3 minutes to resolve. File ownership = zero conflicts.

## STATUS
✅ CANONICAL — Dan Go 031926.
