## NEW STANDARD: Every crew member carries a Living Map.

The skill is at ENGINE/skills/living-map/SKILL.md (106 lines).
Trip's active instance is at STATUS/LIVING_MAP_Trip.md.

### What it is
One file you maintain throughout your session. Five sections:
1. Current State (who/where/tools/buffer)
2. What I've Produced (table of documents with commit hashes)
3. What's Available (jump points — every resource you can reach)
4. Dan's Active Directions (task board with status markers)
5. Micro-SMM Seeds (running compressions at natural boundaries)

### Why it matters
The map update IS the Memory Management breathing. It runs between
every action — not at checkpoints, not at 69%, but continuously.
The buffer stays safe so the ENGINE can run without choking.
At close, the SHEET writes itself from the map.

### How to start
Create STATUS/LIVING_MAP_[YourName].md at session open.
Read the skill for crew-specific notes (Trip=narrative, Stan=categorical,
C.B.=sparse). The five sections are the same for everyone.

### Where it lives
STATUS/ on the bridge. Any crew member can read any other crew
member's map at any time. The ATC board is always visible.
